Ghanaian Defender Vandam Joins Kv Mechelen From Lille

Jerry Vandam, the 24-year-old French-born Ghanaian defender, has completed a 3-and-half-year move to Belgian side KV Mechelen after passing medicals on Friday

French-born Ghanaian defender Jerry Vandam has signed a three-and-half-year deal with Belgian Pro League side KV Mechelen, he joins from French side OSC Lille. 

He passed medicals and inked the deal which will keep him at the Argos Oil Stadion Achter de Kazerne till 2017.

Mechelen have confirmed the signing of the 24-year-old versatile defender who is related to former Ghana international Alex Nyarko.

Vandam progressed through the youth ranks at Lille after joining them in the 2003/04 season but made just 13 appearances for the club in eleven seasons.

However a loan stint with relegated Ligue 1 side Caen last season saw him ganner enough first team experience as he played 36 top flight games.

Mechelen boss Harm van Veldhoven is satisfied with the work rate of the Vandam and is ready to unleash him in their domestic campaign next weekend.
