A member of the Forum for Governance and Justice, Dr CK Boame is asking all ministerial nominees to submit a 20-page document to show their knowledge in the sectors they will be serving in order to help members of assess the capabilities of the nominee.
The document, which will be named “Nominee Visionary Paper”, will also outline the challenges faced by the various ministries.
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News, Justice Boame says the document will assist the committee judge the person’s capabilities before he/she comes to office.
“If this document is demanded and submitted ahead of the vetting process then those sitting on the committee judge by the document the basis of the person’s capabilities when they come to office”, he stated.
“The visionary paper basically outlines the minister designates’ vision for the ministry they are coming into. Do you know about that organization? It’s mandate?” he added.
Justice Boame further commended the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Hannah Tetteh for her display of knowledge in the area she would be working. “She did very well and sounded like she knew where she was going. If all the answers she provided to the questions were to be put into effect, she will be on top of events,” Justice Boamah disclosed.
Earlier today, the Appointment Committee completed the vetting process of three of President Mahama’s ministerial designates despite the absence of the Minority
The three are the Minister-designate for Finance, Seth Terkper, Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Hanna Tetteh and Minister-designate for Water Resources, Works and Housing, Alhaji Collins Dauda.
