While Mugeez of R2Bees fame is tagged with Okuraseni Samuel as a role model, new Afro-pop Kid on the block, Kenz, has in turn chosen Mugeez as his role model in Ghana and instead of copying his style, he rather will compete with him.
According to him, Mugeez is one fine versatile artiste whose style of singing and soothing voice needs to be competed with, even though he is new on the Ghanaian music scene “I see myself as good as he is and copying his style will never make me work hard as an artiste.”
“It’s obvious how music lovers have all their concentration on already established musicians but I urge that they also give ears and support to songs by upcoming artistes who need attention most to exhibit their talents. This situation is our main bane”, he told Scratch Magazine.
He mentioned his source of inspiration to be God and then Usher whose music he started listening to at a very tender age, offered him a persevering musical strength to do music and hopes to collaborate with him as well as Chris Brown, Jay Z, Sarkodie, EL, Wiz kid and Ajebota.
Releasing his debut single dubbed ‘Scream for more’ produced by Brainy Beatz today, January 25, 2012, Kenz noted that with his unique style of singing, he wishes to go global with his music starting from Africa to the American communities since they are leading in the world’s music industry.
Osereme Philip Omozejele, stage named Kenz, is a level 200 Insurance student at Pentecost University, Accra-Ghana but hails from Edo State in Nigeria.
