Buem Primaries On Hold

An injunction has been placed on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Buem constituency which was expected to take place today.

A member of the party, Alhaji Bello secured an injunction following what many have indicated to be, the manner Kofi Adams, aide to the former President was disqualified from contesting the primaries.

Speaking to Citi News, George Aboagye the Volta Regional Chairman of the party stated that he got an information that “somebody has placed an injunction on the primaries.”

He noted that “it all bothers on Kofi Adams disqualification”.

According to him, Kofi Adams had indicated that “he was not going to contest the issue neither was he going to stand even as an independent candidate.”

“We even invited him to come to the place then all of a sudden I understand that it is one Alhaji Bello. But once he has received the summons we cannot go ahead because we will be slapped with contempt” he said.
Mr. George Aboagye lamented that this is the third time he (Alhaji Bello) is taking the party to court.

He indicated that the Regional leadership would consult the party’s headquarters for the next line of action.
