Ghana Coach Allays Asamoah Gyan, Wakaso Injury Fears

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah has allayed the injury fears of Asamoah Gyan and Mubarak Wakaso following the duo’s inability to train on Monday.

The Black Stars resumed training ahead of their second group game at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against Mali on Thursday.

Ghana failed to pick maximum points in the Group B opener with an exciting 2-2 draw with DR Congo.

The Black Stars are now looking to beat the Eagles on Thursday to resurrect its title ambitions in South Africa.

Fears were however rife with the whole Ghana team training on Monday without the two key players.

But coach Akwasi Appiah says there is no cause for alarm after revealing the two players picked up minor knocks in Sunday’s draw with the DRC.

“Asamoah Gyan and Mubarak Wakaso, they had some few knocks yesterday and we decided that they rest today but hopefully they should train tomorrow,” he said.

The Black Stars are expected to continue with their training on Tuesday ahead of Thursday’s game against Mali.
