Claimants of the Ga stool: Nii Tackie Latse II (L), The late Nii Tackie Tawiah III
A faction in one of the four Royal Houses for the Ga Paramount Stool, Nii Teiko Tsuru We is calling on all Gas to wait patiently for the ruling by the Regional House of Chiefs to determine who is the legitimate heir to the Ga throne.
A statement issued by some elders of the House said since the demise of King Tackie Tawiah II in 1947, the Royal House is yet to take its turn on the throne.
The statement added that because of the numerous petitions challenging the legitimacy of Nii Tackie Tawiah III, it should be left for the Royal House of chiefs to determine who the rightful heir is.
The Ga stool is succeeded by rotation among four royal houses but in the recent past there has been intense conflict as to who is the legitimate Ga Manste with several of the Houses claiming the seat.
Nii Tackie Tawiah III from the Nii Teiko Tsuru We was one of the claimants but was reported dead last week fueling speculations that the Nii Teiko Tsuru We will exempt itself from the struggle for the throne.
The statement however said “we wish to make it categorically clear that since the demise of King Tackie Tawiah II in 1947, the Royal Ruling House is yet to have its turn on the Royal Stool due to the succession by rotation of the four Royal Ruling Houses.”
The statement further called on Gas to be patient for the Regional House of Chiefs to determine who will succeed the late Ga Mantse, Nii Amugi Soose II.
In an interview with Myjoyonline.com, an elder of Nii Teiko Tsuru We, Adama Nkpa said they had never been in support of the installation of Nii Tackie Tawia III.
He said they were the first to go to court to challenge the legitimacy of the late Nii Tackie Tawia III.
He opined it was not the turn of the Teiko Tsuru We but rather that of the Abola Piam We to install the Ga Mantse.
He hoped the Regional House of Chiefs will rule on the matter expeditiously.

THE DEMISE OF DR JO BLANKSON
The attention of the Accredited Elders of Nii Teiko Tsuru We, one of the Four Royal Ruling Houses constituting the Ga Royal Paramount Stool Dsase (seat of the Ga Mantse) has been drawn to the information circulating in both the print & electronic media relaying the demise of King Tackie Tawiah III, which announcement was made by Nii Tetteh Kwei II a clamant of the Ga Djasetse Stool.
We of the Premier Royal Ruling House, Nii Teiko Tsuru We, wish to make it categorically clear that since the demise of King Tackie Tawiah II in 1947, the Royal Ruling House is yet to have its turn on the Royal Stool due to the succession by rotation of the four Royal Ruling Houses.
The general public is reminded that due to the numerous petitions pending before the judicial committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Dodowa against the nomination, selection & installation of Dr Jo Blankson as Ga Mantse under the stool name of King Tackie Tawiah III, the honourable Regional House will come out with its final decision for the next Royal Ruling House (Abola Piam Ruling House) to confirm a candidate as the Ga Mantse in succession to the late Ga Mantse, Nii Amugi Soose II.
We the Accredited Elders & Representatives of Nii Teiko Tsuru Royal Ruling House will advise that Gamei & all stakeholders do the right thing (customary & legally) by awaiting the final decision of the Honourable Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.
