Two deceased Legon girls:one confirmed to be Prof. Dominic Fobih’s daughter

One of the two female students of the University of Ghana, who died in the Okponglo accident have been confirmed to be the daughter of Assin South NPP MP Professor Dominic Fobih.

Laudina Fobih and her classmate, Derby Akosua Denkyira Benaye, both 19, died instantly in the accident that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, around 1.30am.

Prof. Fobih told Adom News in a telephone interview Laudina is his daughter. But he did not want to say anything further.

They were onboard a taxi cab with registration number GE 4707-12 heading towards the University when it run into a Mercedes Benz refuse truck with registration number GE 645 X heading towards the Tetteh Quarshie traffic light in Accra.

The driver of the taxi and one other passenger survived with serious injuries.

The injured are on admission at the 37 Military Hospital, where the bodies of the deceased have also been deposited.

A school mate of the girls earlier told Adom News the two girls were both former students of Holy Child in Cape Coast.

Meanwhile, the truck driver was unhurt and is currently in police custody pending investigations.
