Gyan’s alma mater to honour him with sporting activities

Captain Asamoah Gyan a former student of Seven Great Princes Academy

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan will be honoured by his former basic school, Seven Great Princes Academy, in a three day sporting activity at the at the Kaneshie Sports Complex as well as the school’s Dansoman Campus from January 31 to February 1.

The school, which has produced renowned sportsmen for the nation, currently boasts the Black Stars captain as its flagship star. The striker began attending the school in the early 80’s when it was located at Laterbiokoshie.

The sporting activities will include Table Tennis, Basketball, Football, Athletics, Fill in the Bottle, Sack Race, Musical Chairs, and Tug of Peace all for boys and girls.

In an interview, school proprietor Raphael Brown expressed confidence that his academy will produce more sporting talents to serve mother Ghana in the future.

“My school has produced a lot of sporting talents for this nation and will continue to produce that through these activities. Asamoah Gyan and tennis star Eric Amoah were all identified through these annual activities,” he told JOY Sports.

The school turns 30 years old this year and in staging these activities, the entire school is rallying around the Stars captain as he vies to win the fifth trophy for the nation at AFCON 2013 in South Africa.
