Asante Kotoko Duo Join Foreign Clubs

Yaw Frimpong joins TP Mazembe

The exit of Yaw Frimpong and Ben Acheampong from Asante Kotoko have now been sealed.

The duo have been sold to TP Mazembe and Petro Atletico respectively.

Frimpong, 25, joins fellow ex Asante Kotoko player Daniel Nii Adjei who was sold late last year to the DR Congo giants.

He becomes the third confirmed Ghanaian signing of the Ravens haven already secured the services of Gladson Awako from Berekum Chelsea.

Acheampong on the other hand is being sold presumably to balance the books of the champions who made several signings before the start of the Ghanaian top flight.

The 22-year-old striker was expected to lead Kotoko’s attack this term but has struggled for form due to injuries and a battle with malaria.

He has now joined Atletico on a three-year deal haven successfully undergone a medical last month.

He also a failure to seal a permanent contract after undergoing trials at Helsingborg last year.
