Counsel for the Election petitioners have rescinded their decision to object to the judges empanelled to sit on the motion filed by the NDC to be joined in the controversial presidential election petition.
Philip Addison and his team of lawyers were asked to present a formal petition objecting to one of the judges to sit on the case after their request for an in-camera hearing was turned down but instead they wrote to the Supreme rescinding their decision.
They explain the u-turn is to make for an expeditious determination of the petition.
The petitioners are therefore asking the Supreme Court to fix a date for an early hearing of the joinder application.
