Don't appoint anybody involved in a scandal; Vitus Azeem tells Mahama

The Executive Director of the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), Vitus Azeem has cautioned President John Mahama, not to appoint persons whose names have been mentioned in scandals.

The anti-graft campaigner though did not mention any name, stated that President Mahama must only appoint people whose track records are without blemish rather than individuals whose names have been soiled.

The boss of the local chapter of the Transparency International speaking to Joy News Thursday, said President Mahama must ensure persons he appointed are willing to put the country first.

President John Mahama is today expected to release the full list of persons he wants to serve in his government.

According to sources, lobbying for appointments has reached a crescendo with many party functionaries jostling for positions in the new government.

President Mahama has so far made four appointments which saw Prosper Douglas Kweku Bani named Chief of Staff, Roger Kwesi Angsomwine, Secretary to Cabinet and Dr. Raymond Akongburo Atuguba, Executive Secretary to the President.
