Christopher Maloney has received a lot of criticism on his journey to the X Factor final.

However, show boss Simon Cowell has given him the ultimate snub by not making any plans to launch his career after the show finishes.

Louis Walsh confirmed to the Daily Mirror that he had spoken to the X Factor supremo by telephone and he had big plans for the two younger finalists.

The Irish judge told the newspaper: ‘I spoke to him this week and I know he loves James and Jahmene but I don’t remember him talking about Chris, no.’

The news will perhaps not come as a surprise to Chris, 34, who has been targeted with negative comments by Louis during the live shows.

Louis added more insult to injury as he described the Liverpool native as a lowly karaoke singer.

He told the newspaper: ‘Then when he did the Michael Buble song he was back to Chris the karaoke singer or cruise ship singer.’

Maloney has previously branded X Factor producers underhand, accusing bosses of trying to scupper his chances at winning by painting him as ‘a diva’.

The Scouser, who is believed to regularly top the viewers vote, believed Cowell wanted him out because he fears he won’t make him enough money.

His suspicions seem to have been founded as Cowell sees big futures for Jahmene and James and has been keeping an eye on them from the US.

As the all male final gets underway this weekend, Walsh had nothing but good things to say about James and Jahmene.

Louis said: ‘I like James but Jahmene I have loved from day one. It is his voice and he keeps getting better and better.’
