The Tigo Community Soccer competition, the premier inter-communal soccer competition, rounded up its Greater Accra leg in fine style in Tema.
This past weekend, the whole of Tema poured out onto the Site 10 park, Community 1 to savour the Harbour City’s football prowess.
When it was all said and done, Site 5 were crowned winners. They beat Site 5, 5-4 on penalties in the final after the match had ended goalless. They were rewarded with a trophy, gold medals, Tigo souvenirs and a cash prize of GH¢500. They also booked their place in the national finals next year.
Distressed by their painful penalty loss, Site 5 were appeased with silver medals, Tigo souvenirs and 300 Ghana Cedis. Site 19 took third spot following a 2-1 penalty triumph over Site 1. They won for themselves Tigo souvenirs and GH¢300. Razak Zakari of Site 5 was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the competition. He received a brand new Samsung smart phone for his efforts.
