They all declared their support for peace in the upcoming elections. Indeed they proved that music transcends all political and ethnical boundaries and is a unifier of all persons.

Elections have come to be associated with some level of violence in various African countries. It has led to war in some other countries for which lives and properties have been lost and most of these countries are yet to recover from the devastating effects of the war.

The people of Ghana have successfully gone to the polls to elect Presidents since we decided on democracy in 1992. Generally, all the elections have been peaceful. However, we must not be complacent and take the peace for granted. We must all in our own small ways add our voices to the call for peace. MUSIGA has a large membership of musicians in Ghana.

We believe we can use songs to preach peace and to help in educating the electorate about the devastating effects of war and its associated problems. Hence the staging of various peace concerts by the leadership and members of the Union.

The concert was supported by Techno Phones, HiSense Electronics and was telecast live on GTV, TV Africa and Crystal TV.
