‘Asaase’ Beats Them All

Asaase receiving his prize from Baiden

Three-time national body building champion Kofi ‘Asaase’ Salia outmuscled over 20 contestants to win the Muscle Expo (Mr Flex Ghana) show at the National Theatre, Accra, on Friday evening.

His well trimmed body distinguished him from his competitors.

Asaase, as he is affectionately referred to, was clearly ahead in all segments- most muscular, front double bisect, front lart spread, side tri sect, back double bi sect, back lart spread, abdominal, thigh flex and dance pose.

The Kumasi-based heavily-built body builder muscled his way through two contestants to win the heavyweight contest.

He crowned his night’s efforts with some antics in the final round to pick the overall prize when he was pit against Middle weight winner Michael Antwi, and lightweight winner Isaac Boampong both Kumasi-based.

A beautiful Azonto performance from Azonto Twins, Ghana-UK, quenched the whetted appetite of  men, who waited in vain for the Miss Bikini segment in the almost-filled theatre.

The winners received special cash prizes, medals, cellular phones and trophies, while all the participants took home beautifully designed medals.

President of the National Amateur Body Builders Association (NABBA) Victor Baiden described the event as a huge success in a post-event interview.
