We won’t let striking Plateau workers down –NLC

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Omar Abdulwaheed has assured the striking workers of local government areas of Plateau State that the national labour movement would not let them down in its interface with the Plateau State government.

Abduwaheed, who was in Jos yesterday with national leaders of unions of workers under the NLC and Trade Union Congress (TUC), gave the assurance while addressing the striking workers, who turned up at the Plateau State office of the NLC to welcome him.

He said the national labour movement leadership decided to visit the state because it was touched by the suffering the striking workers had been enduring since June this year when the strike started.

The NLC president, who later visited Governor Jonah Jang, expressed the hope that the visit by the national leadership of organised labour would lead to a quick end to the strike.
