30 million dollar credit to support public private partnerships projects in Ghana

The International Development Association of the World Bank is to offer a 30 million dollar credit to Ghana to mainly support and promote Public private partnership projects.

The facility is expected to assist government to increase targeted infrastructure among others.

Dubbed “Ghana Public Private Partnership Project”, this is to be implemented over 4 years beginning in August 2012 to August 2016.

Director of Public Investment at the Finance Ministry, Madgelene Apenteng spoke to JoyBusiness after the signing ceremony.

“As we move to become a middle income country, we need to involve the private sector in a very structured manner. So this initiative is very timely because you you’ll agree with me that we have a lot of problems with our infrastructure and services. So this project is to help us building the capacity of the relevant stakeholders” she said.
