THE ASUNAFO North Health Directorate has congratulated the Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Robert Sarfo-Mensah for his support to the health sector in the constituency.

A representative from the Health Directorate, Namiak Sampson Konja relayed the health directorate’s satisfaction with the MP at the commissioning of an OPD at the Mim Health Center which was funded by the MP through his share of his NHIA fund valued at GH¢630,000.

Senior Nurse at the Mim Health Centre, Sarah Aryeetey, who was full of joy, thanked the MP for fulfilling his promise by expanding the facility.

According to her, the center had always had difficulty handling patients due to congestion so the expansion was a welcome relief.

She promised the MP management would make good use of the edifice and give the necessary attention to patients who came there for medical treatment.

Mrs. Aryeetey also called on the MP to help them in getting equipment for the laboratory to further upgrade the health center.

Mr. Sarfo-Mensah, for his part bemoaned the politicization at the Assembly which he noted hindered development in communities in the district.

The MP said the reason for building the OPD which includes a consulting room, laboratory, dispensary, waiting room and apartment for a nurse/doctor, was to help reduce pressure on the Goaso Municipal Hospital, an adjoining health facility in the area.

He called on the nurses to adopt a maintenance culture and keep the place clean daily for patient use.

He promised to provide the center with an ambulance to transfer emergency cases to the Goaso Municipal Hospital.
