Ghana defender Harrison Afful scored on Wednesday night for Esperance who beat ES Zarzis 2-1 in the Tunisian Ligue 1 Group A.

The Blood and Gold came from an early goal down in the 4th minute to win a stay on top of the table.

But defender Walid Hichri leveled for the home side on the hour mark before Afful’s clincher in the 76th minute.

He received a wall pass from his teammate before curling into the far post with his weaker left foot.

Countryman Emmanuel Clottey was rested for the match but will be available in Saturday’s match against Olympique du Kef.

Afful missed last Saturday’s CAF Champions League second leg final 2-1 defeat to Al Ahly at home due to suspension.
