Diamond endorses John Mahama

Diamond Appiah, known in showbiz circles as Diamond, who has received quite a number of reviews in the music arena recently, may incur the wrath of the leadership of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) for openly declaring her support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Mahama.

Diamond, who has brought her own glamour to showbiz in Ghana, told BEATWAVES in a chat that she declared her support for John Mahama because she believed in his ideology and that he was more realistic when it came to issues.

Diamond disclosed that her team had already intensified its campaign in some parts of the country, urging the youth to rally behind John Mahama (JM). She added that she wanted the youth to vote massively for John Mahama because he had very good plans for the creative arts industry.

The afro pop singer who always wants to appear unique at events grounds and on stage, noted that her support for President Mahama did not mean she supported the NDC, adding, “I believe President Mahama represents the ideals I have stood for and what the country needs now for it forward march.”

The diva, who has four hit music videos to her credit, recently became the toast of hundreds of Ghanaian music fans when she released her hit single, ‘Kaa Fe Dull’.

The hit single was premiered on some selected radio stations in the UK, Canada and Nigeria and played in the Big Brother House.

Diamond’s ‘Popping’ was nominated at last year’s Vodafone 4Syte Music Video Awards in the Best Female Video of the Year category.
