Suame Market Women Hail Samira

The market women at Suame giving a rousing welcome to Samira Bawumia

THE WIFE of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Samira Bawumia, was on Friday afternoon mobbed when she visited the Suame Market in Kumasi.

Traders in the market suddenly left their wares and raced to catch a glimpse of Samira, when they got wind of her presence in the market.

Samira was making a quick dash to the market to spread the NPP message of hope to the market women.

But before she could reach the centre of the market, her adoration was being poured from all angles by the market women.

The market women, most of whom by their demeanour and actions are NPP faithful, started chanting Samira’s name on top of their voices.

The charged crowd was also heard loudly chanting the names of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

Sections of the market women also chanted “free education, free education, free education,” as they raced after Samira.

Samira, who seemed thrilled by the rousing reception accorded her, waved back at the crowd. She shook hands with most of the market women whom she interacted briefly with.

Samira, in her brief message, told the market women that the free SHS promise of Nana Akufo0Addo is possible so the people should vote for the NPP.

Some of the market women were seen telling Samira not to waste her time on them because, as they put it, “We love the NPP just like you.”

One excited woman, Madam Afia Fofie said Samira’s visit to the market was an indication that he NPP respects and cares for the poor market women.

She said the entire market women and their relations at home would vote massively for the NPP to implement the free SHS policy.
