Mo’ Cheddah ready to go for gold at MVA

As the voting for this year’s edition of the Channel O Music Video Award, holding on Saturday, November 17, in South Africa, ended last Thursday, Nigeria’s Modupe Oreoluwa Oyeyemi otherwise  known as Mo’ Cheddah  is certainly ready to go for gold again.

Mo’ Cheddah was nominated for her ‘See Me’ video featuring Phenom which has put her back in the running for this year’s Most Gifted Female Video after she took it in 2010.

In fact, until last Thursday night, the ‘Ko Maa Roll’ crooner was busy tweeting, and appealing to her fans to vote for her.  Even before then, the social media was awash with an earful of ‘vote for Mo’ Cheddah’.

The songstress, who is expected to add fire to the live performances at the glamorous event is contesting with the likes of Zahara Loliwe (South Africa), Lizha James ft Perola: Leva Boy (Mozambique),  Keko ft Madtraxx: Make you Dance (Kenya/Uganda) and our own  Tiwa Savage: Love me x 3.

This year,a lot of African artistes who  have been lined-up were urged to turn the event, brought to you by DStv, into the biggest celebration of African music.  All the artistes billed to perform at the event, holding at  Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto, have promised to make the event a historic one. It would be broadcast live on DStv Channel 320.

Some of the stars billed to perform at the event include,  last Year’s Best Newcomer winner, Ice Prince, who is also, one of the contenders in the Most Gifted Hip-hop Video for ‘Superstar’ as well as Most Gifted Ragga Dancehall Video. Blazing the stage as well, would be South African Hip-hop head Pro and a number of South African Kwaito music legends in the form of Alaska and Thebe along with Dr Malinga.

Another highly anticipated performance is from hotshot Nigerian star, Davido, who is also running for  the Most Gifted Newcomer Video as well as Most Gifted Dance Video and is tapped to set the stage ablaze with his performance.
