Melcom Disaster: 4 discovered alive; scramble underway to rescue them

Four people have been identified as still alive under the rubble in the collapsed Melcom building, days after the disaster.

The four are said to be trapped in a mangled elevator.

A military officer, who got trapped in the rescue process has been pulled out.

His rescue, rescuers told Joy News’ Elton John Brobbey, paves the way for the rescue the four people in the elevator.

Families are batting their breath as prospects of discovering more people alive are dimmed by each passing hour.

The discovery the four alive should signal a ray of hope to families with missing relatives in the disaster.

Melcom has meanwhile released a list of staff it says were in the building but are accounted for.

The list includes Ampofo Lucy, Lutterodt Eric Bio, Samuel Gyimah, Ruth Akitiwah, Sandra Ofosu, Judith Asantewaah, Amponsah Victoria and Jacob Mensah.
