*John Mensah urges Asamoah Gyan and victims of Melcom tragedy to stay strong *

General captain of the Black Stars, John Mensah in an interview with * Ghanagoalsonline.com* has offered support to the captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan and his family, following the loss of his mother, Madam Cecelia Amoako, on November 6. John Mensah visited the family home of Gyan on Thursday to console the family.

Mensah said: “The news of Asamoah’s mother’s death came as a shock to me and my family. I would like to tell him to take heart and leave everything to the Lord Almighty because He knows best. We will all support him in every way that we can. Madam Cecelia Amoako will be missed but always remembered with great fondness. May she rest now in peace with our Lord. Our deepest condolences to you all.”

In another related development, the former Olympique Lyon and Sunderland star has also sent a message of condolence to the victims of the Melcom Shopping Complex disaster which has claimed nine lives so far.

The statement read: “We want those affected through this disaster to stay strong because as Ghanaians, we endure pain and enjoy success together respectively. For those who died, we pray to the good Lord to protect their souls. God bless all Ghanaians.”
