Climate change: Fashola tasks traders on environment

Wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dame Abimbola Fashola, has tasked on stakeholders in the informal sector which include, traders and artisans on the need to collaborate with the state government in its effort at ensuring sustainable healthy environment for today and the future.

The First Lady, gave the charge at  the environmental advocacy campaign organised by the Ministry of the Environment for the operators in the informal sector. The 3 day forum theme: “Sustained sanitation system to protect and promote human health” held at Alausa, Ikeja.

Fashola who was represented by the wife of the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mrs Rhoda Ayinde, said there was the need for all to demonstrate positive attitude towards the environment.

She said:”The reality of climate change and the need for all of us to demonstrate greater positive attitude towards the environment is unfolding for everyone to see.

”Recent happenings in some parts of the country and around the world particularly the United States of America all confirm the fact that issues of environment is not limited to a country or a part of the world.
