Asempa FM's Freeman appointed as GFA member

Thomas Freeman Yeboah

Asempa FM’s, Thomas Freeman N. Yeboah has been appointed as a Member of the Research and Information Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

His appointment follows series of revelations he made on issues pertaining to sports in Ghana and football in particular.

Freeman set the records straight on who scored Ghana’s 100th Nations Cup goal after Agyeman Badu was erroneously credited with that feat.

He stated unequivocally that John Mensah scored the 100th Nations Cup goal.

He also revealed that Kotoko’s triumph in the 2011-12 Glo premier league was their 21st and not the 22nd as widely reported.

He also revealed that Ghana’s highest score line in an international friendly was 12-0 against Malawi on October 15, 1962 and not the 13-2 against Kenya reported.

Based on these feats, Thomas Freeman has been appointed as a member of the Research and Information Committee.

“The Ghana Football Association extends its compliments. It is our pleasure to inform you that you have been co-opted as a member onto the above-mentioned Committee with immediate effect,” a statement signed by the General Secretary of the GFA stated.
