A group sympathetic to the ruling National Democratic Congress called the Fact Forum has taken a swipe at the flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo for the meeting held last Thursday with former President Rawlings.
The group says “the NPP has signed a pact with the National Democratic Party (NDP) to work to destroy the NDC and so Akufo-Addo is now swallowing his pride, and kowtowing to the man he used to ridicule and vilify.”
According to the group, Nana Akufo-Addo, “has been walking around with a very heavy negative public image and so is trying desperately to hoodwink Ghanaians into believing that he is recreating his image.”
Leading members of the group, at a press conference in Accra on Monday said, “It is pretty obvious that Akufo-Addo and his handlers do not respect the intelligence of Ghanaians.”
The group accused Nana Addo of double standards stating that the NPP and its supporters waged a campaign prior to the 2008 General Election against the late President Mills that a vote for the NDC was a vote for the former President.
The group says the visit was part of the grand scheme of Nana Addo to win the election at all cost, asking: “When did Mr. Rawlings become the god that Akufo-Addo and the NPP are now worshiping?”
“Nana Akufo-Addo’s visit to Mr. Rawlings amply exposes the NPP flagbearer as a very desperate politician who is realising that his chances of becoming President “at all cost” are becoming slimmer by the day, and so is desperately clutching onto every straw that he can lay his hands on,” the group said.

Nana Akufo-Addo is a Desperate Politician!!!
Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we are grateful to you for your presence here this morning at the Kuku Hill Campaign Office of the NDC.
Thanks to our revered party elder, Uncle Harry Sawyer, this place has been home to the NDC for years, and continues to be a major pivot around which our 2012 campaign is revolving.
We have invited you here this morning to make it public that the spirit of our late Leader and President, His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills is alive in this place and very much a part of the campaign to win the December 7th election, and also to expose the real motive behind Akufo-Addo’s visit to Mr. Jerry John Rawlings last week and his web of corruption.
The NPP Flagbearer and his media apparatchiks would have the world believe that the visit to Mr. Jerry John Rawlings, was done in the supreme interest of the nation.
Akufo-Addo has been walking around with a very heavy negative public image and so is trying desperately to hoodwink Ghanaians into believing that he is recreating his image.
It is pretty obvious that Akufo-Addo and his handlers do not respect the intelligence of Ghanaians, and think that the voting public would be swayed by that charade-of-a-visit.
Ladies and gentlemen of the media, the Fact Forum is stating emphatically that Akufo-Addo visited Mr. Rawlings for the sole purpose of pursuing his inordinate desire to become President AT ALL COST.
Nana Akufo-Addo’s visit to Mr. Rawlings amply exposes the NPP flagbearer as a very desperate politician who is realising that his chances of becoming President “at all cost” are becoming slimmer by the day, and so is desperately clutching onto every straw that he can lay his hands on.
Akufo-Addo has not hidden his desire to become President of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana AT ALL COST, and the visit to Mr. Rawlings only goes to expose him as a desperado.
It is a matter of fact that Akufo-Addo and his handlers have convinced themselves that Mr. Rawlings has the capacity to destroy the NDC hence the decision to play ball with him.
We repeat; Akufo-Addo and his handlers have convinced themselves that Mr. Rawlings has the capacity to destroy the NDC hence the decision of the NPP Flagbearer to now be comically seeking the blessings of the person who until recently, was supposed to be the most evil person in Ghana.
The NPP has signed a pact with the National Democratic Party (NDP) to work to destroy the NDC and so Akufo-Addo is now swallowing his pride, and kowtowing to the man he used to ridicule and vilify.
We ask; would it ever be possible for God to kowtow to the devil? We leave you to answer that question.
If Akufo-Addo was really sincere with his visit, he should have seized the opportunity to apologise to Mr. Rawlings for stripping him off his diplomatic courtesies when the latter was Foreign Minister.
Also, if Akufo-Addo was sincere with his visit, he should have siezed the opportunity to apologise to the nation for his ALL DIE BE DIE war cry.
Akufo-Addo did none of the above; and he thinks that we cannot decipher and figure out the real reason for which he visited Mr. Rawlings?
If Akufo-Addo does not respect the intelligence of his party members, he should at least not disrespect the intelligence of the majority of Ghanaians.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, for failing to speak to the solid issues that would have panned him out as wanting to really move the political bar notches higher, Akufo-Addo has rather further blighted his chance of becoming President because discerning Ghanaians are incensed with his attempt to insult their intelligence.
Is it not interesting that in 2008, Akufo-Addo and the NPP kept telling Ghanaians that a vote for Professor Atta Mills, would be a vote for Rawlings, for which television adverts were put out?
Did Akufo-Addo and co not spend copious time using the “fear factor” to attempt to alarm Ghanaians that a vote for Professor Atta Mills would allow Rawlings to take back political power and terrorise Ghanaians?
So if today Akufo-Addo is seeking the blessing of Rawlings, would Ghanaians be wrong in concluding that a vote for Akufo-Addo would be a vote for Rawlings?
When did Mr. Rawlings become the god that Akufo-Addo and the NPP are now worshiping?
And they think that majority of Ghanaians are not seeing through the agenda of Akufo-Addo and the NPP?
Indeed, the Facts Forum has interacted with a number of NPP supporters who are very livid at the way Akufo-Addo is suddenly kowtowing to Mr. Rawlings and singing his praise.
Ladies and gentlemen of the press, the Facts Forum is convinced that because Akufo-Addo has realised that his “lie-lie” free SHS policy is not convincing the electorate, he is now desperately focusing his attention on supporting the NDP to destroy the NDC. But that is wishful thinking!!!
Akufo-Addo has come to realise that his watery promises would not make him President and so is hanging his last hope on the destruction of the NDC.
We are stating without any equivocation that the NDC is not about to die.
Just as His Excellency President Atta Mills declared that Ghana will not die; the Facts Forum is also declaring that by the grace of God, the NDC will not die!
No single individual has the capacity to destroy the NDC and so if Akufo-Addo is waiting for the NDC to die before he becomes President of Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana, then he will wait till the second coming of Christ.
His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills started to build a Better Ghana and in the past three and a half years, it is crystal clear that the Better Ghana agenda is sturdily on course, and the Fact Forum is confident that with the realistic and achievable pledges that His Excellency President John Mahama is making to advance the Better Ghana agenda, majority of discerning Ghanaians will give the NDC the mandate in December to work in the interest of entire nation.
As part of his desperation, he recently went to Isreal to touch the ‘wailing wall’ to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he has changed, yet has refused to show remorse on his tribal inflammatory comments and ridiculing Prof. MILLS and Christianity for fasting and praying at the Castle. Since when has AKUFO-ADDO realize that God reigns in the affairs of men?
Nana Akufo-Addo’s plan to paint a saintly picture of himself has failed woefully and we wish him better luck in his next desperate move to deceive the electorate into voting for him.
The Facts Forum also believes that, it is in this desperation that he now claims to be incorruptible. Laughable as it is, we will find an appropriate time to deal with it.
Indeed the Facts Forum believes that voting Akufo Addo into government in 2013 will be the biggest endorsement and celebration of corruption in Ghana. Akufo Addo and the NPP carry not only the disgraceful title of being the most corrupt government in the history of Ghana but sadly Ghana’s history is replete with how the NPP institutionalized and decentralized corruption in Ghana.
