Former President Rawlings Calls For Greater Attention To Ensure Peaceful Elections

Former President Jerry John Rawlings has called for greater vigilance to ensure peaceful elections in December.

Speaking at the official launch of the National Democratic Party, NDP and the party’s affirmation of the Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings as the party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Rawlings said while political parties are promising to build schools and offering free education, there is a complete silence on who should restore the missing moral values of society.

According to him these values are imbibed in the former First Lady who has taken a bold and courageous step to restore these values which were the pillars on which the PNDC and the NDC were built.

Former President Rawlings said the NDC has lost these values which propelled the party to win previous elections.

According to Mr Rawlings both the NDC and NPP have lost these values and so are afraid of going into opposition, for fear of being prosecuted.

He said no person has suffered humiliation as the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings because she stood for the truth and the grass roots.

He described Michael Teye Nyaunor who was present at the launch as an honest and transparent person who will never allow himself to be corrupted.

Mr Rawlings welcomed the new party saying it is likely to win more parliamentary seats from those parties that adopted corruptible means to elect unacceptable candidates who are not the true representatives of the people.
