Despite international matches dominating the football calendar, the Glo Premier League will continue this weekend with the second week fixtures.

It’s just early days yet in the league but racking in the points now will prove crucial come the end of the campaign next year.

Match action starts in Kpando on Saturday where Heart of Lions play Real Tamale United before the bulk of the matches come off on Sunday.

The pressure is on Asante Kotoko to perform in their away clash against AshantiGold as either side chase a first win in the competition.

After kicking off their title defence with a frustrating goalless draw against Amidaus, the champions make the short trip to Obuasi to face rivals, AshantiGold in match-day-2 on Sunday.

The Miners, who also drew their opener, will sense an opportunity to twist the knife in Kotoko’s wounds when they meet at the Len Clay Stadium.

Having scored two late goals to earn them a victory in Wa, Aduana Stars will be at home at the Agyemang-Badu Park where they will attempt to put Berekum Chelsea to the sword.

Hearts of Oak will be without suspended striker James Abban, who was red-carded in the first match of the season when they play New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Phobians will be looking to be at their best after they could only draw 1-1 with Tema Youth in midweek.

At the Tarkwa T&A Park, Medeama will welcome Ebusua Dwarfs while Wa All Stars travel to the Golden City Park to face Berekum Arsenal.

The Tema Stadium will host the clash of the ‘Professionals’ as Amidaus play their first home game in their debut campaign in the premiership against Liberty.

In Kumasi, King Faisal will take on Tema Youth to wrap up Sunday’s round of matches.
