Ohemaa Mercy steals show @ Hit Makers finals

Ohemaa Mercy, one of Ghana’s gospel music icons who has been consistent in the gospel music industry releasing hits like ‘Adamfo Papa’ and ‘Wobeye Kese’, among others, last Friday, October 5, staged a brilliant live musical performance at the just-ended maiden edition of MTN Hit Maker reality show held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The gospel music star showcased her powerful and enthralling voice to the satisfaction of the audience.

Music fans yielded in admiration to her performance, pouring out their hearts in adoration. Over-excited fans who were filled with the ‘sweetness’ of the rhythms of the songs could not help but dance their hearts out.

Although she has been singing since her secondary school days, Ohemaa Mercy attributed her success to constant prayers and reading of the Bible.

She has been described by certain key personalities in the showbiz business as a talented gospel music star.

Her style of performance that night influenced all the music fans present. Gifted and talented, not only in singing but also dancing, Ohemaa perfectly exhibited her creative skill which dazzled the audience.

She made fans move and groove to her songs; in fact, she kept the entire crowd on their feet.

Ohemaa dazzled the audience with her vocal ability and proved she was a voice coach by hitting certain high notes, which got the audience applauding.

Reports available to BEATWAVES also indicated that preparations were far advanced for her to stage the second edition of Ohemaa Mercy Live in Concert which would take place in December this year at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The concert dubbed ‘The Tehilla Experience’ was set to be an exhilarating experience for all believers and lovers of soul inspiring and entertaining gospel music.

Unconfirmed reports available to BEATWAVES revealed that the organizer of the Ohemaa Mercy Live in Concert was the award-winning music production house, Media Excel Productions.

The concert was also a charity event and proceeds would go to support the Ohemaa Mercy Foundation and her prisons reformation project.

Ohemaa Mercy, who would soon be on Media Excel music label according to the reports, has started holding closed-door meetings with the management of Media Excel Productions.

Media Excel would soon be travelling to 10 African countries to negotiate for marketing and distribution avenues for musical works as a starting line for creating available market for Ghanaian musicians.

Some of Media Excel projects included Bernice Offei’s seminar for corporate women, Bernice Offei @ 30 musical concert and Lizzy Okrah and Princess Ivy’s album.

Media Excel also produced the ninetieth musical concert for Professor J.H. Kwabena Nketia, and a concert for the veteran Akosua Agyapong for her twentieth anniversary in the music industry.
