She only received a mere 18 points for her first dance, and now Jerry Hall has revealed why.

The Strictly Come Dancing contestant has admitted that she only does the minimum amount of training that is asked of her.

Speaking during an appearance on Loose Women, the 56-year-old said: ‘I was training the least of any of the contestants, I was doing the contractual minimum, since last week I’ve added on 30 minutes.

‘It’s a bit of fun. I’m not a dancer. People don’t mind as long as you make an effort. Get up more than you fall down.’

Wearing a black low-cut dress and a patent waist belt, the former supermodel was more than happy to be honest about her training regime with Andrea McLean, Sherrie Hewson, Janet Street Porter and Jane McDonald.

Speaking about her professional dance partner on the show, Hall said: ‘I’m loving it and I love my dance partner. He’s so polished, charming.

‘He’s got poise. I adore him. He gives me compliments all the time, building my confidence and will say “Oh that’s good, we’ll keep that in,” because it is quite scary learning a dance and then doing it in front of millions of people.’

Referring once again to her efforts,
Hall – who was in a relationship with Mick Jagger for 22 years –  admitted that her children were ‘totally amazed’ when she revealed
that she was taking part in the reality TV show.

‘The
first thing they said was “Mum aren’t you a bit lazy, how are you going
to do this?” It’s hard work. But they are very pleased now, they saw me
do it and they were like wow.

‘It’s
too hard I think. I’ve never danced before and we’re working all week
long. We have 4 days and then have to put on a show of a new dance.’

The
mother-of-four also added that she finds it hard being judged on the
BBC1 programme, saying: ‘Usually I come off the catwalk and everyone
says “You were fabulous,” that’s what I am used to, now it’s people
being critical.

Happy lady: Hall said that even her children were shocked that she was taking part in the BBC1 show

‘I’m the youngest of five girls, my sisters always got me to lead so Anton trying to get me to follow is a bit of a problem. It takes a long time for the thought to go to the foot.’

Hall was in fact slated by the panel for her lack of dancing when she attempted the Cha Cha with DuBeke last weekend.

Tough judge Craig Revel Horwood remarked: ‘You’ve certainly taken minimal to a whole new level darling. An awful lot of wriggling about, I thought.’

While newest member of the panel, Darcy Bussell agreed, adding: ‘You have the ability. Dance more. Get her to work harder on those steps.’
