AFN’s Coaches Forum/Clinic Holds Oct. 18 in Lagos

The Technical Committee of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has concluded plans to hold a Coaches’ Forum/Clinic in Lagos between October 18 and 20 October.

According to the Chairman of the Technical Committee of the AFN, Navy Captain Omatseye Nesiama, the Coaches’ Forum/Clinic which will draw resource persons from within and outside the country will hold at the auditorium of the National Institute for Sports inside the National Stadium complex in Lagos.

He admitted that the seminar will help give a direction on how to reposition the country’s track and field ahead of next global competitions.

Sports Minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi is expected to kick off proceedings at the seminar also aimed at boosting Nigeria’s preparations for the 2014 Commonwealth Games as well as the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Some of the topics to be examined at the talk-shop include: Re-equipping Nigerian Coaches for Enhanced Elite Performance; Maximizing Results through Identification of Elite Performance Components – A Scientific Approach; Elite Athletes Management- The Coach’s Perspective.
