Hiplife group, VIP to receive Lifetime Achievement Award in Chicago

Multiple awards-winning Ghanaian rap group, VIP, will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award in Chicago, Illinois, this month. The group will be honored by African Community Media Network at the 2nd annual Afro-Entertainment Award slated for October 27, in its esteemed celebration of cultural heritage and artistic legacy.   

Making the announcement, African Community Media Network revealed that VIP will be the first African group to receive the Afro-Entertainment Award Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the past 10 years, VIP has sold millions of records across Africa. Made up of  Zeal ( Abdul Hamid Ibrahim), Promzy (Emmanuel Promzy Ababio) and Prodigal (Joseph Nana Ofori), the charismatic trio has created compositions that blend High Life, Hip Hop and traditional African music.

Officially launched in 2011, the Afro Entertainment Award honors the contribution of multi-genre artists and entrepreneurs in the Afro-Entertainment industry with focus to educate and inspire. The philanthropic goal of the award is to enhance the lives of individuals in need by supporting both local and international charities through fundraising and community advocacy.
