Republic of Ireland winger James McClean is unlikely to feature for his country in their World Cup qualifying match with Germany during the international break.
The 23-year-old reported a very tight groin following his club Sunderland’s match against Manchester City.
McClean will undergo a medical with the Wearside club on October 8 to determine whether he will be fit to make an appearance against Joachim Low’s side on October 12.
Team-mate Sean St Ledger is also unlikely to feature after suffering from a suspected hamstring injury while playing for Leicester City in their Championship win over Bristol City.
