Cole to remain in England squad following Hodgson talks

Ashley Cole will remain in the England squad despite his derogatory remarks towards the FA on Friday, Goal.com has learned.

The defender had earlier Tweeted his displeasure at the FA’s written reasons for reaching a guilty verdict in England captain John Terry’s racism trial, with Cole’s evidence brought into question.

Cole was quick to hit out at the claim, calling the governing body a ‘bunch of t****’, but has since deleted the message and offered an apology.
The left-back has now held talks with manager Roy Hodgson, and remains in the squad for this month’s two World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Poland.

The 31-year-old is on course to receive his 99th and 100th international caps in the upcoming games.
