Throughout her time in the Coronation Street, we were used to seeing Katherine Kelly pulling pints and inflicting her bolshie manner on unsuspecting customers.

But the 32-year-old actress proved she has come a long way from Weatherfield as she stepped out in Manchester on Thursday night.

Casting aside her former alter-ego’s penchant for chav-tastic tracksuits and leopardprint creations, the star exuded ladylike chic in a stylish black ensemble.

As we know her: Katherine looked a far cry from her days as bolshie barmaid Becky McDonald in Coronation Street (R)

Katherine paired tailored turn-up trousers with a simple black vest and a tuxedo-style jacket as she attended the Selfridges 10-Year Anniversary Party and Dinner in Exchange Square.

Accessorising with a black shoulder bag and sophisticated peep-toe shoes, the actress couldn’t have looked further away from the Rovers Return.

Meanwhile, Katherine had her brunette locks styled into a chic bob, again a far cry from Becky’s brassy blonde barnet.

Since bowing out of the ITV1 soap back in Feburary, the star has been spotted out and about with her former co-cast members on a number of occasions.

And on Thursday night it would seem she was looking forward to catching up with close pal Antony Cotton in particular.

Writing on her Twitter page, Katherine said: ‘Looking forward to heading to @Selfridges Manchester tonight & catching up with my buddy @antonycotton !!’

In addition to Antony, who looked dapper in a slick black suit, Katherine was joined by a number of other Corrie stars – with black seeming to be the colour of choice all round.

Newlywed Kym Marsh teamed a simple long-sleeved LBD with black tights as she flashed her wedding ring for all to see.

Meanwhile, Jennie McAlpine opted for a black trouser suit, which she paired with a lacy top, offsetting her curly red locks perfectly.

Elsewhere, Catherine Tyldesley looked stunning in a gold lurex number, teaming the ladylike dress with a gold clutch bag, matching court shoes and her blonde locks falling around her shoulders in Hollywood curls.

Fashion designer Henry Holland added a touch of style to the event, looking his typically stylish self in a grey tweed blazer, denim jeans and a white shirt with gold detailing.
