Johannesburg – A Gauteng mother who tried for years to have a baby was hit with a new trauma when a drunk driver killed her little boy.
Nombuyiselo Mkhenkcele has not been able to stop crying since the tragedy last Sunday when 6-year-old Anathi died, reported The Star.
Last Sunday a drunk driver crashed into their informal settlement, killing Anathi, 6, and two other children.
A fourth child suffered head injuries.
Mkhenkcele was busy ironing her son’s school uniform when she heard the speeding car approaching, the loud crash and people screaming at Sol Plaatjie settlement in Roodepoort.
The driver of the car was beaten to death by a mob of furious community members.
Empty alcohol bottles were found in the car.
