Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading manufacturer of cocoa and chocolate to recruit an Electrical Technician for one of its operation in Ghana.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Electrical Technician will have the responsibility of carrying out preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on electrical, instrumentation and automation systems of the plant to ensure the availability of the plant to meet production targets. He will report to the Maintenance Manager.
The position is based in Tema.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities for this position shall include but is not limited to the following:
• Carry out routine or daily inspection and solve electrical and automation problems in collaboration with the instrumentation Engineer
• Obtain preventive schedule information and undertake preventive maintenance programmes on electrical, instrumentation or automation systems of the plant
• Perform corrective maintenance activities for desired alterations and modifications on electrical and automation systems of the plant
• Troubleshoot on defective electrical and automation systems and undertake repair works.
• Work alongside the company’s Shift Technicians, Instrumentation Engineer and sub-contractors to execute tasks, troubleshoot on defective electrical systems, and undertake repair works on emergency or breakdown or shutdown maintenance programmes.
• Undertake emergency or breakdown maintenance activities on call in duties in conjunction with the shift technicians
• Assist Instrumentation Engineer in ensuring that all electrical, automation and calibration devices are well maintained in accordance with laid down schedule
• Liaise with service provider (power and water) in taking readings for billing
• Carry out corrective action from electrical, instrumentation and automation audits in conjunction with the instrumentation Engineer
• Ensures the full implementation of the QMS procedures related to Maintenance and communicates proposed changes to the Management Representative. This includes the documentation and approval of procedures and work instructions, process forms etc as appropriate.
• Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Must have HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Must be computer literate
• A minimum of 2 years post qualification hand-on relevant working experience.
• Good knowledge in electrical engineering and some knowledge in plant mechanical engineering
• Good knowledge in programmable logic control systems or automation
• Ability to diagnose faults and identify the cause of problems
• Ability to troubleshoot and work confidently and independently
• Ability to interprete electrical diagrams and makes modifications
• Analytical skills, good judgment or problem solving skills, good communication skills, good organizational skills and a team player
