Nigeria fullback Juwon Oshaniwa has told MTNFootball.com he wishes to make the most of his four-year contract at Israeli club FC Ashdod.

The former Sharks of Port Harcourt left back, who sealed a four-year contract with Ashdod on Wednesday, said he is delighted to finally move overseas.

The Jos-born player said he is aiming to achieve greatness with his new club as he will put in his best to be a good ambassador of the country.

“I am happy that I have fulfilled one of my dreams as a footballer to play in Europe and I will do my best to see that I do well and win honours with my club,” he told MTNFootball.com

“I would have loved to have a team mate like Efe Ambrose, but he left for Celtic and I am happy for him. I will do my best to be a good ambassador for my country here.

“My move to Israel is a new chapter in my career. In short, it’s a new beginning and like you know no one is above learning so I am here to learn and improve myself.”

He was assigned jersey number 18.
