Falconets are pride of Africa – Nnaji

Chairman of Imo State Union of Football Lovers in Japan, Chief Kennedy Fintan Nnaji has showered encomiums on the female U-20  national team, the Falconets for their brilliant performance in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Japan 2012, despite losing 2-0 to the USA last Tuesday .

As the team confront Japan in the third place match in Tokyo, Chief Nnaji is confident that the team still have better chances against the host nation in today’s match. He added that the only way the Edwin Oko-tutored side can overcome the Asian side is to be focused and be able to convert goal-scoring chances.

“As far as I am concerned, the  Falconets are the pride of Africa, no matter the situation or the position they find themselves in,”said Chief Nnaji.

“From the beginning of the competition, they have been very good except for their last game against USA. But be that as it may, there is hope for the team to succeed. Although Japan is no push over, as they are also a good side. But I would want Nigeria to win because that is my fatherland,”he said.
