Gyan Ready To Power Ghana Past Malawi

Asamoah Gyan wants to score against Malawi

Striker Asamoah Gyan says he is ready to spearhead Ghana’s attack against Malawi on Saturday.

Gyan-who will be playing his first match for the Black Stars since February-will boost Kwesi Appiah’s attacking options.

The Al Ain striker was absent when Ghana lost 1-0 to Zambia in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Ndola and his return will be a major boost.

“I appreciate that (pressure),” Gyan said. “It’s a teamwork, I work for the team, I make sure I do my job.”

The 25-year-old hopes his teammates will complement his efforts and ensure Malawi are severely beaten at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg.

“Football is played by 22 people and I have played for the Black Stars since 2003 and I have done my best for the team.

“If you can go through all these things then you are ready to play at anytime, in front of the crowds and everybody.”

The return leg encounter will be played in Lilongwe on 14 October
