NDP Was Dead On Arrival – Kpesah Whyte

A research fellow at the Institute of African Studies of the University of Ghana, Dr. Kpesah Whyte has shot down any possibility for the National Democratic Party (NDP) to cause a major stir in the upcoming elections.

According to him, the NDP has come to add to the already existing 23 political parties in the country.

The newly-formed party linked with the former first family, the Rawlingses, received its provisional certificate from the Electoral Commission on Wednesday to operate as a political party in Ghana.

Speaking to Citi News, Dr. Whyte opined that all the political parties should not be bothered about the NDP.

He said: “With the new provisional certificate, they probably are closing any window of opportunity on themselves given the fact that the NDC plus the NPP and all the other political parties are probably gearing up for the electioneering campaign so I think the NDP is probably dead on arrival.”

Dr. Whyte maintained that “there is no way the NDP is going to win an election in 2012 unless of course their own is not to win an election but to probably cause some other stir or have some other motives.”
