He’s known for his comical jokes rather than his music, but perhaps James Corden is thinking of a career change.

The 33-year-old funnyman was spotted on the set of Can A Song Save Your Life where he joined Keira Knightley and a bunch of musical instruments.

It is unknown which role Corden is taking on in the upcoming film but he had certainly dressed for the part.

The film clearly isn’t set in present
day, judging by the old fashioned outfits that Knightley has been seen
wearing, and Corden’s attire wasn’t much different.

The Gavin and Stacey star arrived on
the New York film set wearing a pair of blue baggy denim jeans that were
rolled up and black shiny shoes.

He teamed them with a blue checked shirt and a rather serious look on his face as he strolled around in between takes.

Knightley once again found herself
playing the guitar and this time she was modelling a pair of grey baggy
trousers and a pale pink top.

Perhaps Corden is taking on the role of a cameraman in the movie as he was later spotted wearing a pair of headphones and carrying a filming microphone.

Mark Rufflalo was also present on the film set, which looked like an impromptu gig that had been set up in a back alley.

Different role: The brunette plays a struggling musician called Greta who moves to Manhattan

Can A Song Save Your Life? sees Knightley’s character arrive in New York with her long-term love interest – who is played by Maroon 5’s Adam Levine – with the aim of pursuing a musical career together.

But Levine’s character dumps her for what he thinks will be a successful solo career without her.

In a rather typical movie twist, Levine’s character meets with a bad ending while Knightley’s Greta is happily discovered by a producer, played by Ruffalo, while singing in a bar on an open mic night.

The movie has just announced another high-profile attachment, with hit musician Cee Lo Green to join the cast playing a successful hip-hop star.

Meanwhile a clip from one of Knightley’s other upcoming films has been released.

Released by Film4, the six minutes of footage from Joe Wright’s adaptation of Anna Karenina sees Knightley, who plays Anna, encountering Count Vronsky, played by Aaron Johnson, at a party.

Anna Karenina will be released on September 7 in the UK, and November 9 in the U.S.

Knightley recently became engaged to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton and appears to be very loved-up with the musician and it seems the feeling’s mutual.

A friend of the couple recently told Us Weekly: ‘He can turn into this lovestruck puppy around her.’
