In spite of the economic crunch in Europe, the tourism industry is still vibrant in Spain, one of the leading nations in the tourism industry, Kofi Asante, a business executive and stakeholder in Africa’s tourism industry, has disclosed.

According to Mr Asante, African business people should consider Spain as a destination for their holidays in Europe.

However, he advised the youth, who were eager to travel to Europe to look for jobs to discard the idea since they would be disappointed.

He said Africa was gradually becoming the economic hub of the world and therefore the youth would do a lot of good to themselves if they stayed in Africa and took advantage of the golden opportunities around.

Mr. Asante, who is the Executive President of Volta Youth Development Association, disclosed: “We could learn a lot from the Spanish tourism industry and anyone interested in the industry needs to travel to Spain for a few weeks. Apart from the golden beaches, Spain is also noted for the numerous festivities and carnivals in Spanish cities, such as the Holy Week in cities like Seville. Also popular are the Seville Fair or ‘Feria de Abril in Spanish’ or the world-famous festival of San Fermin in Pamplona, the Fiestas del Pilar in Zaragoza and many more in every town.

Movie festivals can be found in San Sebastian, Málaga and Sitges. Music festivals includes: the FIB, Festimad, Primavera Sound, and Bilbao Live Festival  among others. Several cities have hosted international events,

Spain is known to have one of the best night lives the world over in addition to a diverse landscape that is replete with places with great ecological value.
