For a man with many skeletons in his cupboard, Mr. Martin Amidu’s threat to expose President Mills if members of the NDC’s Communication team continue to attack him alleging that he is a disgruntled person can be said to be tantamount to opening his own can of worms.
Intelligence gathered by the National Democrat newspaper reveals that his threat has only incensed members of the Communication team who have therefore decided to call his bluff.
Party insiders say contrary to his claim of being honest and a man of integrity, the skeletons in Mr. Martin Amidu’s cupboard includes corrupt practices such as receiving of bribe while occupying the high office of the Attorney General of Ghana.
The searchlight of the communication team will be thrown on unholy payments allegedly made to him by a British citizen to facilitate the payment of debts owed him (the Briton) by the state from the era of the Kufuor government. The British national runs a security company in Ghana, selling security cameras and other security accessories. He is also engaged in the buying and exportation of cocoa.
Also to be placed in the spotlight is what Martin Amidu, while he was the Attorney-General, goes to do at the usual rendezvous at Kokomlemle in Accra. Then also are certain aspects of his personal life which was unbecoming of the Attorney General of Ghana.
For a man who has claimed the moral high ground, his secret life with a concubine is likely to be placed in the public domain to disprove his claim that he is an honest man. What may even be damaging is the huge cash he splashed on this concubine. Was it his personal money or state money?
