Model Rachael Williams attends Women for Africa Awards in London

British international model and former winner of Miss Black Britain UK, Rachael Williams was amongst several of the big names that attended the Women for Africa Awards which took place at the prestigious Great Kensington Hall, London over the weekend. Rachael, who presented the award for the Female Educator of the Year, is excited about her growing status within the African community.

She comments:”The awards was such an amazing show, I was so honoured to be in a room filled with positive, inspirational women from around the globe. Female empowerment is vital for young women growing up in this society and i support any female aspiring to make a change”.

Nollywood Actress and Ambassador for Women for Africa, Stella Damasus was among the stars who appeared in style at the event which was graced by several African celebrities such as footballers, High commissioners and movie stars.  Other important dignitaries at the event were Princess ‘Deun Adedoyin-Solarin, Fatima Jabbe ,Theodora Ibekwe, Asake Oge,May7,the mayor of Kensington, representatives from the metropolitan police, assistant secretary general to the common wealth,  Sierra Leone high commissioner, Ugandan high commissioner, Kenyan high commissioner, Angolan representative, Obi Emelonye, Richard Taylor the father of Damilola Taylor who was killed 11yrs ago and of course the organisers themselves Sam and Tola Onigbanjo .

The event was to showcase the Beauty of African   women, their achievements in our society both nationally and internationally. The MCs  on the night were Adebayo Jones the renowned Nigerian UK based fashion designer and  Tola Onigbanjo the Founder of Women for Africa Award.
