NPP is our seniors in political thievery – Adu-Asare

The Member of Parliament for Adenta Kojo Adu-Asare has admitted that the two major political parties in Ghana, NPP and NDC have ruined the nation’s coffers over the years.

According to him, it is surprising that the opposition NPP for the past three years labeled the ruling government as thieves meanwhile in terms of political thievery in Ghana,he said, the NPP is a senior to the NDC.

He was reacting to comment made by NPP MP for Fanteakwa, Mr Amankwaa Asiamah who accused the ruling NDC of amassing wealth and paying of huge judgement debts to its loyalists and cronies.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s current affairs talkshow Ekosii-Sen on Thursday, Benjamin Adu-Asare noted that the level of looting of state lands and money under the Kufuor administration can never be compared to the current situation under President Mills.

He observed that senior members of the NPP under their eight-year rule bought state properties for themselves so “I always do not understand why the NPP can call us all sorts of names. Who stole more than them?”

“I have many names to mention of those who under NPP enriched themselves. And I am daring the NPP to also mention one name who have also enriched himself or herself under President Mills. The NPP should not bring themselves at all. They are more thief than we (NDC) do”.

Mr. Adu Asare expressed worry that though the NPP has no evidence to back claims that NDC are stealing from the people of Ghana, they have continually made it top of their political campaign. He however asserted that the NPP will fail.

”NPP should be more serious and think of something else than calling us names like thieves because Ghanaians know who are thieves”.
