Cerezo: Atletico Madrid will study any offers for Falcao

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has intimated that the club would be willing to sell star striker Radamel Falcao – but only for the right price.

The Colombia international only joined the Rojiblancos last summer from Porto and has enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign at the Vicente Calderon, the highlight of which was his double in last week’s Europa League final win over Athletic Bilbao.

Falcao’s fine form has reportedly attracted the interest of Europe’s elite, with Chelsea said to be considering offering Fernando Torres in exchange for the Atletico’s current top scorer. While Cerezo admits every player has his price, he points out that rumors are often the work of mischievous agents.

“There are always snakes in summer and by August will see thousands who will be talking all the time like this,” the Rojiblancos supremo told Caracol Radio. “Falcao is under contract for four more years with Atletico Madrid, and at this time [of year] there are always offers.

“Football in Europe moves very quickly, so if there are bids, they will be studied. If not, then nothing.”
