Sports aids positive attitude among pupils, says Adebisi
SPORTS has been described as a powerful public and foreign relations tool, apart from its physical and skills development values.
The proprietor of Marella Schools, Edward Adebisi, said this during the school’s annual sports meet held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, where he enumerated many politically motivated problems that have been solved by sporting events.
According to him, that is why Marella is encouraging, inspiring and motivating its students and pupils through sports to develop positive attitudes that will make them become good leaders in the future.
“Sports and physical education are ways through which we can inspire our students and children to develop positive attitudes, which we also noticed is a beautiful way to strengthen friendship among youths and unity among families,’ he said.
“It helps build confidence and comradeship. Sports is said to help in physical and mental development by enhancing psycho-motor skills while also building up personal values, which in turn make character.”
He added that his school would continue to improve sports facilities within all its campuses to encourage the students to improve their sports skills, while he advised the students not to lose sight of their education, as knowledge acquired at this stage of learning will serve as foundation for their future career.
