Aguero sets sights on Premier League title after Manchester City’s derby victory

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has set his sights on the Premier League title after his side’s 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United.

City emerged triumphant at the Etihad Stadium on Monday night to take them top of the Premier League table on goal difference with two games left to play, and Aguero stated afterward that he understood how much the match meant to the club and its fans.

“It’s a great pride to play along so many players that give it all for the team. We knew that we had to be decisive to win the derby,” the Argentine wrote on Twitter.

“We kept our focus throughout the match and there’s no doubt we deserved the victory. We couldn’t let this opportunity go.

“I also wanted to thank our supporters – you kept us motivated throughout the whole match. Keep it up.”

Aguero also declared that the club need to keep focused on the tasks in front of them if they want to collect the league trophy at the end of the season.

He added: “There’s still challenges ahead but we all wish for the title. This is how we’ll get it – working together and keeping focus.

“I’ve told you a few days ago and I’ll say it again! We’ll fight to the end. Now more than ever. C’mon, @MCFC! #Together.”
